Olympics!!!

The Olympics are my VERY favorite thing in the entire world!! And they start in less than an hour!! WOOHOO!!!

Post a comment about the event(s) about which you are the most excited!! I am *ABSOLUTELY* most excited for the paralympic swimming events, as my friend Kelly is expected to win five events!!! I am SO SO SO excited for her!! (she is an IU alum, but not included among the IU alums that will be participating in the olympics... they are featured today on the IUB homepage. I called media services at IU and told them to add Kelly-- this woman's story is crazy amazing!! And I was there when it all began in her and Dave's little house on seventh street-- woohoo!)

I am also a huge Gail Devers fan, so I can't wait to see her compete in her fourth hundred meter hurdles. While track and field are DEFINETELY my favorite events (though I am a bit scandalized by all of these doping allegations), I also LOVE swimming-- I am especially excited about Michael Phelps...

Events to which I am NOT looking forward include trampoline (PLEASE!), weightlifting (whoof!), and synchronized diving (why?!!). For further reading concerning the olympic events for which I have disdain, please see my September 2000 article in the Collins Columns.

What are your thoughts, friends?? Which events have you rescheduling your life so that you may watch? Which events make a Lifetime Original Movie look like great television?!!
